It could depend on what the rest of the colours in your house are, or at least your living room but because your kitchen seems to have a modern feel I think you could go with a colour that is a bit more bold or unexpected such as teal perhaps.

The cabinets are stained, i am planning to paint the peninsula, the walls are off white, the tiles in the kitchen floor is gray. also considering changing the handles. i am leaning towards light gray. what do you guys think?
