Great idea. I am very very new to AV's and bought 3 to use as disposable trials. I have 2 left that are healthy one has hit the dust bin after multiple wick experiments ( possibly 10?). My explanation is to let you know I have zero experience, but that said, I use a syringe to hold my fertilizer, that way I can drip only one drop in a reservoir when I add water without having to make up a bunch.

Disposable trials, I can relate. To this day I still consider every AV I own as a disposable trial, lol!

Ubro, so you are using a liquid fertilizer? If you use something meant to be diluted you can make up a gallon or half gallon of the fertilizer solution at a time and it will keep a while. I use a water soluble, urea-free fertilizer powder which is typically what most people use.

Thanks for your advice, I will mix some up. I have been reading everything I can about AV in the past month here on this forum (our winters are long). As a result, I have ordered 12 new violets, some leaves and some plugs. So my question is Who do I blame???? or thank??? :) LOL.

Ubro I notice you are in 2A, you can surround yourself with beautiful blooming violets while the weather outside is freezing.

Since your area is cold, you might want to be careful about announcing any AV orders, I speak from experience.
