I've not grown that variety but I've grown lots of other varieties-- some fancy and unusual and some not and they all seem to be about the same in germination and growth. I start mine about 2 months early so they are a good size to set outside but if you don't have the room for larger pots you could shave a couple of weeks off that time. They will still be as big as any coleus you could buy

I love Black Dragon. I want to try them in sun this year. If anyone has, please comment. They have nice color in the shade though, as were the ones in the photos below, which I brought inside to photograph. Very easy to root and grow year after year, although I suppose all Coleuses are like that. In any case, very sturdy stems.
