Painted Amaltas-Cassia seed pods

I have collected over the years an abundance of seed pods of the Amaltas-Cassia Fitstula tree (Also known as the Golden Rain Tree)

. I have been painting them lately and made a couple of instalations using them - thought I might share with you some of the results. Cheers.

The paint work is done with acrylic paint - then a clear polyurethane coat for sealing - right. Cheers.

I would think the best way of obtaining some of these seed pods would be to find a tree on which they come from - I would love to send you some from here - BUT due to quarantine restrictions that would be very difficult to get them out of the country unless you ofcourse live here in Australia?

Tropicalguy, thanks for your fast response! I live in Germantown TN! Right outside of Memphis! I just love the look of these painted pods but that tree wouldn't live here. Alas!

Wow, those are awesome Tropical Guy. Beautifully painted too.
I looked up where one might find them in the USA and there's someone on etsy that sells them from California. Not cheep, but accessible here.
I'm thinking one could use small tree branches in a similar way.

Hi there! These look great! Could I use one of your photos? We have a free Community Festival 'River of Life Festival' this Saturday and I'm going to use paint pens and make these with the kids. Im from Queensland, Australia :)
