Laurentii pups, one looking different

Does this look "normal" or is something going on here?

This Laurentii got 2 growing pups, the right one looks like a typical Laurentii pup to me while the left one looks a bit different.

Both leaves are facing the window so it can't be that they get different amount of light or something.

Might be nothing unusal at all, but I'm curious ^^

Here's the two leaves, the "strange" left one compared to the right one.

Yes!! Always fun to look for sports or potential sports on Sansevieria and other plants. Some plant folks even refer to this as "Sports Fishing". In any case there are layers of cells in the leaves. In the case of laurentii the outer layer lacks chlorophyll, the inner layer has it forming the fairly stable variegated edge. With any variegated plant sometimes some of those cells can get moved into the other layers. This variegation is much less stable............but it can be especially if a new pup grows out of the section of stem with the "extra" variegation. In any case that pup is somewhat unique. It may, and is most likely to produce pups with a typical laurentii pattern but it may give you a pup with similar or even more central variegation. Enjoy it!!

Oooh thanks for that interesting and informative answer! Glad to hear I wasn't just imagining things haha :D
Will post another picture on it later when it's full grown and see how it looks like then. That pup has another leaf on the way inside aswell so will be fun to see how that one turns out.

Hello everyone, especially EB88 :) I have a similar problem with my old, over 20 years old S. t. laurentii.
Up to now it has grown as it should, but last summer it produced such a different leaf. For now it's just one leaf, but I would not be angry if one of the rhizomes was just like that :) On the right - correct, on the left new one

What a wonderful plant! That leaf looks truly original too :O So fun to see, lots of more stripes than mine got, wonder if it will produce more of those.

Just as we age and get variegated ourselves (gray hair) so do plants. Older plants or overcrowded pots seem to produce 'sports' or 'mutants'. These cultivars then grow out to produce new kinds for us. 'Lillian True' or 'Slipped Stripes' is one such kind. And so far that's what yours is doing.

Stush - beautiful plant !! Coloring reminds me S. t. 'Golden Flame' :) Is 'Lillian True' synonym with 'Slipped Stripes' ? I see the name 'Slipped Stripes' for the first time :)

According to most, Slipped Stripes and Lillian True are the same plant.
