Yes, I'd cut it back and force it to branch, rooting the cutting, of course. Tenuipes is an aggressive grower and climber. I gave up trying to get mine to cascade down and put it next to a trellis and this is how it took over in a year or so...

That's just the top half of the 7' trellis! I've since whack it clear back and restarted it. Stand back once it gets going! LOL!

I received a small cutting of the same hoya from a friend last year. Mine is just a little larger than yours and has bloomed 3x. I cut mine at about where you have that nice bundle of leaves at the top and it took a little while, but branched, I planted the cutting in the same pot and wrapped it around a coated wire circle trellis for now. Will reposition as it grows. I prefer a lighter look, so will be pruning regularly and creating several pots. Will also try a cascade look but those vines want to grab on to everything.
