Save the Chindo Viburnums?

last modified: 8 years ago

I inherited four Chindo Viburnums when we bought a new house last year and I’m wondering if they‘re recoverable. Looks like someone chopped them across their tops at some point so they’re all about eight feet tall. They have also become multi-trunked, which I usually don’t see in many of the pretty internet pictures where the Chindos are all single-trunked with perfect pearish forms.

Can these be saved and put back on the path to a well-shaped specimen? How? The picture below is just one of them.
