Glue down or floating? If it's an interlocking floating floor you should be ok but it's always best to check with the manufacturer first.

The big temperature swings will shorten the life of the vinyl (of any non-stone/tile floor). I would expect 7-10 years out of a floating vinyl floor. The cold winters will probably be too much for an adhesive to deal with. Adhesives become brittle and then crumble below 40F....some can get to 28F....but then you are DONE. It will look and feel like someone put sand underneath your floor.

Stone, porcelain tile or a roll-on product that would be used for decks (but you MUST check the VOC content to ensure it can be used indoors).

It's plastic, it will shatter if, you drop something on it in freezing temperatures.

Wondering what djwallach used for flooring in their 3 season room in Jersey. I have an enclosed front porch with no heat on Long Island. Would like to put down vinyl planking. I welcome comments regarding results from homeowners who have used vinyl planking in similar porches.

We use composite vinyl tiles (CVT) in our 3 season cabin. It's 61 years old and we've replaced it only once. So 30 years each. These are the commercial tiles you see in hospitals and schools. 12 in squares with adhesive. Never once had a problem. These are also very affordable about $0.99 a tile. And so many colors to choose from.
