Dining table help needed!!

Hi guys! We got this dining table at a steal of a deal but the color did not suit our home so I sanded it down and stained it this dark walnut but I feel the color is too dark and too matchey matchey with our floors now :(
I am hoping to lighten it up and distress it without sanding it fully back down.... thoughts?
I was thinking of sanding it down lightly to lighten the overall color, adding a little bit of gray stain and then whitewashing it all. Thoughts or suggestions?

8 years agoThe table is great. You just need an rug under it and some lighter color chairs.
