Additional sealer recommendations?

Im trying to do a bit more research on sealers for our Cygnus Leathered Quartzite counters that will go in on Tuesday.

Any more suggestions for some great sealing products?

Miracle 511 was used in our last house and I wasn’t impressed...

i attached photos of our slabs in case that has anything to do with type of sealer

For some reason I JUST got this notification! Weird! Would you suggest that over the Stainproof Plus?? How much would be needed for 110 square feet of countertop? Does it change the finish at all?

Meta Creme will not change the colour or finish to the stone. It is not a plastic sealer or resin that is what 99% of all sealers are made of. Stain Plus is good but we find the Meta Creme much better and is permanent. It will migrate and seal the entire thickness of the stone .... not just 1mm if you are lucky like most other sealers or window tint films do.

It physically changes the chemical bonds in the stone to reject stains etc but the most important thing about any sealer on stone is that it must breathe or transpire.

It's on their website where we have linked it

    APPLICATION RATE

The total application rate is approximately one quart per 30 to 100 sq. feet (1 litre per three to 10 sq.m.) depending on absorption. Refer to the minimum Sealer Application Rates table for more information.

Thank you so much! I guess I’ll start with one package and go from there. Our stone is pretty dense so I’m thinking absorption will be minimal!

Honestly, 1/2 a packet will do an entire kitchen. Just put it on about 4mm thick. it will be a creme looking substance. It then will go clear and watery as it works.

Come back after an hour and reapply more to the high quartz areas, you will see them as they will absorb more meta creme than the rest of the area. This way you know you are getting full penetration.

Check again after another hour, we normally just make sure the surface is completely covered. Leave over night and just wipe down with a clean microfibre in the morning and you are done.

Just a FYI .... DO NOT USE any silicone to stick the stone down..... it will bleed through to the surface leaving dark spots or patches. Quartzite is extremely bad for bleeding and there is NO REVERSAL! after all quartzite is sandstone that has been subjected to heat and pressure and still is a metamorphic rock.

Why all natural stone you should use Megapoxy or similar....

I would still test the Meta Creme on an off cut first to see if you get any weird reactions but highly unlikely. Quartzite can be funny to deal with though we are 99% sure you will be right with this color.... You will be able to tell after about half an hour.

This is due to if the quartzite is out of Indian which most are, they sometimes run diesel through their recycled water treatment plants to enhance the colour of darker granites.
