Jody, now I am totally confused!! I do like this one but is this different than the other one that you just posted?

I have two bulbs of psittisinum x papilio x cybister which she now has named Capoeria and this is what they are supposed to look like.

Neither of mine have bloomed yet but they are almost large enough to if they had a mind to, now if they look like this one you just posted, I wouldn't be all that disappointed but if they looked like that other one in the other thread, I wouldn't be too happy!

I sure hope that she wasn't selling seedlings and didn't mention it and they are all going to just be pot luck!!!!

I just want to add this picture that Ray sent me last year of his blooming of psittisinum x papilio x cybister and this is even different! I thought at the time that he may have possibly mixed up his labels but now I'm not so sure, he may be spot on and if so than I suspect that these were just all seedlings, what do you think or am I all wrong?

Yup, that 's the one I ordered and this is its first blooming. I hope yours blooms like the pics which I really like (or I wouldn't have ordered it lol). I also couldn't wait for the bloom to open. I think I will stick with starting my own hybrids. Like people here have said, if you start seeds each year then in three years you have new hybrids blooming every year! I'm trying to stay positive :)

Donna, if that was Ray's result from the same bulbs sold, then unfortunately, we got, well, we don't know what.... This is the 3rd time that a bulb didn't bloom true. It would be less frustrating if we found out right away instead of waiting years for them to mature only to find out they weren't what we had ordered or expected.

So, trying to see the glass half full, I wonder if a selfing would reveal something exquisite.

Actually I think that of the two, yours and Ray's, yours even though not what it's supposed to be, is pretty. It looks like it pulled psitticinum's genes out and, you got 4 flowes! Rays, I don't know!!

My opinion doesn't matter much because I "don't have a dog in this fight" , but I will say it is quite pretty!! It is very different from Capoieria and if that was what you intended to buy, it is disappointing and you are rightfully disappointed.in my opinion it is by no means an ugly duckling, but you did spend years growing it and for that it is a disappointment. I want to cheer you up by pointing out that it is beautiful and exotic. I hope that its is some consolation. Would I buy it if Telos offered it with your picture? You betcha!

Pavel, I agree. It is unfortunate that they were not sold as seedling crosses but rather a new hybrid with a picture of what it should look like. In fact, it has been named as Donna mentioned. So we thought we were getting clones and we were getting "pot luck" seedlings - to quote Donna :). So nurtured her for a couple of years and watched as the scape grew tall, the flowers swelled and finally opened to reveal our swan was really a ...??? :))

On another note I also bought "Rosa", a neopardinum hybrid that is supposed to look like neopardinum which has not bloomed yet. Anyone bloom this one?

On a brighter side, my husband looked at this seedling and said, "Wow, that`s different I like it! " So, I told him I would name it after him :))

Pavel, have you had any luck with breeding your Pardinum? I hope you can save these special genes.

Jody, I bought a Rosa too as well as several others. Nothing has bloomed for me yet.

Pavel, We bought these many years ago when she first listed them so I didn't give it much thought until the listing with the same picture lasted for literally years!! Then that little voice down deep inside knew that we probably were getting seedlings. But, there was always the chance that some of these varieties that she had listed for years might be the result of tissue culture, or so I told myself. Oh well, pot-luck can be interesting too sometimes as seen in the results that Jody got. I really like that yours Jody and if I'd seen that picture, I would have ordered one!!

Good news, one of the Orange Swallow has a scape! So hopefully we will see what this looks like. And we know it flowers in the spring. Unless the tags gor mixed up lol. Jody

I too think Quito would be great and I would also do one self; with all those marvelous genes, who knows what else we could come up with, the Ekims Razor series!!!

Donna, yes, she was not fully opened when I took the first pic (didn't know it at the time) and I guess she develops her curves later, like Giraffe. And the color seems more like papilio today. Ok, you are 1 on the offset list and I hope you get blooms on yours this year!

Quito just opened

Fantastic flowers Ekims Razor. (4 flowers / stem). Perfect.

Freeze pollen, and then use it again on H.papilio, E.Star, when it is flowering.

Also, I could imagine using this pollen for H.pardinum flowers. ;)
