Sizing Multiple Ceiling Lights

We have a 22’ x 15’ living room in a 1920s Tudor with alcove ceilings. We are having ceiling lights installed (there are currently none). I read about the rule of adding the feet together and converting to inches for light fixture sizing, so our room would call for a 37” light fixture. However, were thinking of installing two ceiling lights, evenly spaced in the room. Do I split the sizing in half in this case? (The room does have other light sources and we are planning to install flush mounted light fixtures.)
