China aster plants in Pacific NW

Years ago I bought a couple china aster plants at a local nursery and fell in love with them for cut flowers. Unfortunately, I have tried in vain three years in a row to grow them from seed....this year I gave them optimum conditions and two seedlings have popped up from 150 seeds planted!

The last two years I have looked everywhere locally and could not find them in bedding plants anywhere.

I have also been frustrated by supposed experts who think I'm talking about the fall asters. "Callistephus chinensis" have actually been around a long time...maybe they just aren't a popular flower here in western Washington?

If anyone can tell me where they have found china aster bedding plants, probably a bit later in the season, I would love to hear about it. Thanks!
