Input Needed for new Kitchen Layout!

We are in the beginning stages of planning a remodel of our home.... which includes moving the kitchen over. This layout is very preliminary and shows what I would like to fit into the kitchen if possible. The opening on the bottom left goes into the hallway right next to the master bedroom and can be closed off if needed. Our house is very open concept and I like that the doorway keeps the hallway and the kitchen from both being dead-ends. We have huge crowds over often - and every one always ends up in the kitchen so I'd like it to be as practical as possible! The Kitchen is 18' x 15', not including the extra island to the right. This extra island is basically somewhere for people to gather between the living, dining & kitchen and will be visible from the entry... I had planned a banquette originally but walls do not look right in our open concept space, and I think a table will look out of place so close to the dining room table. Any input is very appreciated!

Be careful with those corner ovens. It looks like you'd have issues opening cabinets/drawers on the sides of it.

I'd lose that extra island. It just feels random and out of place. It's actually in the way of a major traffic path. People aren't going to want to hang out there because it's not really apart of either room.

The ovens can move. Maybe to the end of the run with the sink in it - near the dining room? Regarding the extra island I agree something else may be better. It looks a bit lost with nothing there though, and the kitchen looks a bit open and unfinished... Maybe I should try a peninsula on one side? I will attach my 3D renditions with and without that island.

I think you have a great start! However, I think you should live and use the space for a while before you commit to the second island :)

Does anyone have any advice on appliance layout? I am not sure about fridge/freezer on the opposite side of the island and the wall ovens on the angle.... I haven't placed the microwave yet but would like to have it near a coffee center. I would really like to create zones instead of the standard triangle. This is the first kitchen I have had the opportunity to create and I'd like to make it as amazing as possible!! Any tips from kitchen designers? :)

The cooktop needs to be on the outside wall unless this is a one storey house where venting can go straight up through the roof., no angled appliances the fridge freezer wall should have all pullout pantries . IMO you really need a KD to get the most from this space . I agree the work triangle is not alway nessessary we cook together and find we don’t need it.

This is a ranch, so no worries about the venting. Do you think the fridge/freezer should go elsewhere? I know I probably should get a designer... I wanted to share on Houzz because there are so many people here with great ideas and different opinions to discuss the possibilities with!
