While it would be technically possible to install this on a swing door, it was designed to be used with a sliding door. You'll notice that the locking mechanism uses a hook to engage with the strike? That is designed to actually pull the sliding door closed, ensuring a tight seal with the jamb. However, if used on a swing door, you would actually be pulling against your hinges every time you lock the door, which could cause issues over time. We would not recommend using this on a regular swing door, so as to avoid issues with functionality.
