carolb, you're so welcome. I am just glad I caught it in time. It's the threat to wildlife that concerned me most but was looking for an attractive alternative to kudzu but don't think anything can stop it.

Practically any plant can become invasive if the environment suit's them enough. I would never think WestCentral Florida or south Florida to be ideal for Crown vetch. I have never seen it in these parts on any one of my road trips.

In NorthEast Pennsylvania it would grow everywhere though especially on banks and hillsides often together with morning glories and perennial sweet peas. But there were wild flowers and naturalized flowers all over the hills there for much of the growing season unlike here.

FJs, you're so right. I guess there are varieties and the kind I planted and jerked out was the worst for non-humans. It was very pretty in the pictures which is why I bought it. Living here in Brevard County and on a wild canal, things just pop up with no idea where they came from. I see a beautiful Lantana across the canal and would love to have it but it's too risky to get to it. I will just have to admire it from afar I guess. We had a horrible storm last evening with quarter sized hail. Hopefully it didn't damage my new plants. Everything looks fine though this morning.

Birds may help out and plant some lantana for you. They do like the berries...
