Cover peony eyes or not?

We're expecting 10+ inches of snow tomorrow (zone 6b). Lots of the peonies in my garden have those nice thick pink eyes poking through the soil now. Should I cover them? Would they be ok uncovered?

Too late for you now, but generally you don't have to worry if all you see are the eyes. They handle cold well at that srage. Now, I say that but I do have one variety that is very sensitive to cold & I have to cover it. We got just a bit of snow last night, I did not cover and they look fine today. Many of mine are up and leafy, a few have buds. May get down to mid 20s tonight so I will cover them just in case.

Like Nancy said above, they'll probably be okay at the stage they are right now...

...but it really depends how cold, if it's a very hard cold snap, maybe covering wouldn't hurt,

...if its more of a light freeze, they should be okay,...and snow is a really good insulator as well when it's really cold
