I am refinishing my kitchen table and benches. Everything has gone for the most part smoothly. I applied one coat of stain and let it dry for 24 hours then a second coat. I completely forgot to wipe off the excess so now it’s sticky 3 days later. How can i fix this? I saw you can add another coat of stain, let it sit for 15 minutes and then wipe off all access. does this work? I have not sealed with polyurethane yet.
