Window seat depth

My daughter’s window sill is 24” above the floor and is 16” deep. I would like to make the window seat a bit deeper to be more comfortable. Any simple ideas?

Similar to what Tatts said, I would add some storage/small shelving in front. If you have extra money, to make it look like it's part of the windowsill, you could get a custom cushion that covers both the windowsill and top of the storage/shelves. Add some patterned pillows and a throw blanket and you're good to go! Hope this helps!

Frame it out to make it deeper. Simple.

Put shallow shelves underneath.

Do a search to window seats and see what you like.

24” high is also uncomfortable. Not sure how much room you have, but perhaps a nice 18” cushioned bench in front of window would be all you need then window sill can act as book shelf and a lamp could be placed on the shelf as i see an outlet on the wall below the the sill.

I wonder if the discomfort is more the height than the depth of the window seat. We have a built in seat that is a comfy height at around 16" with no cushion (I'm 5'8".)

24" is almost closer to desk height than seat height.
