I have had a rope plant for 11 years and another for about 7 years they have done great, till recently. the leaves are weak and dropping, there are no bugs or fungus anywhere. the only thing I can think is that I fertilized about 6 months ago. these are the only two having problems. I have clipped them back so they didn't strain to feed the vines but the vines do not want to root either. Not really sure what to do I don't want to re-pot for stress reasons. can some one please advise? I really do not want to lose the 11 year old plant it belong to a friend that died in 07.

Betonlife, repotting is recommended to give fresh nutrients to the plant. You have never repotted it?

also rope plant is a slow rooter in my experience, give it time if you can

Pretty sure it's an australis now. I'm just hoping it can handle our cold.

my big australis died back but the cutting i took is a trooper. it doesnt like to much water so let it dray a bit between waterings

thank you staci, you are the only one that didn't tell me what I have but how to work with it. I did read that 1/4 t peroxide with water helps, I did that, the leaves are not as hard as the should be but so far they are not turning or dropping. I also moved it to a closer to a sunny window. Just praying now not to lose this baby.
