Hi, Rachel--

Really like your table and your rug selection (in the right size!). The part of your vision that doesn't connect for me here is the chairs themselves. Since they don't truly nest under your table fully, the look isn't quite as complimentary as it could be. It's not that the mix of materials isn't a cool one - it is - but the shared function of the pieces together seems it won't operate as well as it could for you.

If you're open to it, I'd have suggested something like a roll-top Parson's chair in lieu of the iron with a bucket armchair arrangement all around the table so that, when not in use, each of your chairs could fully tuck under the table's surface.

do you have a pic?? it is a smaller open concept and I def don't want something taller to block the space..if that makes sense

Marta, the chairs are not super comfy but they're not terrible. I have 3 yr old twin boys so they need to be able to clean well. I was thinking of putting small lumber pillows in the back of them.

I totally understand what you mean. I also have two boys (older now), and was looking for something easy to clean and stable (they were always falling backwards on our old chairs), and chose the HM eames plastic shells. The only reason I mention them is because our table is kind of similar to yours :) These chairs are fantastic (and surprisingly comfy!), I would recommend them in case you’re open to something different. Here’s a picture:

Those were in my top choice too! I thought they we maybe too modern. Your artwork is adorable!!!
