It is according to the kind of grape. Muscadine grapes do well. Most table grapes get Pierce's disease and only grow a few yeas before they die. Victoria Red is about the only table grape that seems to be resistant. Muscadine grapes grow wild and do well in Houston.

Not sure if grapes are budding out yet but I would think they should be. Almost everything is budding out, even persimmons.

Thank you! Yes, I bought Muscadine grapes. I think that they had not received enough water to get them out of dormancy, so upped the amount of watering. Two of them look to be budding out finally. Not sure the third survived winter, but I have my fingers crossed.

Your grapes should grow with no issue. We have had strange weather around here lately that could contribute to the delayed growth. Another thing to be aware of in The Woodlands area are the deer, birds and raccoons. Once you get anything resembling a grape, one of those three will likely take all of your hard work in a day. I would cover the plants if you haven't already.
