Bathtub dilemma for kids - acrylic kohler archer tub or a cast iron tub?

Which is better for kids and looks nicer?

Acrylic wears very fast and looks terrible as it scuffs and dulls. I would always choose enamelled cast iron over acrylic, any day.

I agree with soberg. Acrylic tubs doesn't feel very solid and I believe you have to put a mortar base undereneath it to support it properly otherwise it flexes a bit.

This is a really old thread, but just to add, in case someone is researching Kohler Archer: from my experience, I don't recommend it for kids. The problem is the pop-o-matic stopper mechanism, when my kids sit on it or accidentally push on it, it pops open and the tub drains.
