Going Green Garden Ground Cover

Compost question

I am thinking about starting some little compost thing. Something people use a lot is coffee grounds. Are those used or simply coffee grounds you can buy ? Would that be the "brown" level or "green" level of the compost heap ? I am thinking about taking a trash can and putting fallen leaves in it. Spraying some water then coffee grounds, then spraying a little. Adding a small amount of worm castings for the microbes. Then more leaves on top and spraying.

I think that would get things started. Then you would turn a little once in a while for a "hot" compost. If you didn't turn so much, would that be a "cold" compost ?

Your plan will result in anaerobic decomposition/digestion.

Usually the coffee grounds used in compost are used, they are the result of making coffee, instead of putting the used grounds in the garbage, the grounds are put in a compost pile.

Please do some more research on compost. Try to follow a process that was successful instead of inventing something.

Ok but wouldn't turning it give it air ? Is the real difference in anaerobic and aerobic the time it takes for things to break down ?
