Do you want an actual, working compass? Or inlaid pieces that resemble one? I would say that compasses that are stationary of limited use. If you want a decorative compass inlay, find one you like online and have a sheet metal company fab it in a metal you find appealing and will last in a corrosive environment (like in conrete outside). Stainless steel probably. People do this sort of thing with terrazzo all the time.
