I love the window box Tiffany, how long did it take to fill out so beautifully? Pot with the coleus & misc plants is so pretty, great job as always

Thanks! I guess it does look like a window box. It is a some kind of wire desk or locker accessory that has been pressed into service as a planter, sitting on front steps. All of the plants in the top & on the top row of the front side were put there in November I think. The stems that look droopy at the bottom on the front were added last weekend, right before I took the pic. They have perked up now & starting to show some color on the buds, will have yellow blooms. I used all stems with buds on the tips.

Wonder how long that metal planter will last?. Keep us posted, Tif.

I'm curious too. I've been using it for about 3 yrs so far. The plants from the previous arrangement became too big for this small container so it was time to start over with a new crop of youngsters.

Its going to be so pretty with yellow flowers, you must show it off LOL, I'll be looking forward to that :>)

I made this over the weekend. There is window screen inside the wire. It's not finished yet but I probably won't have time to add more until this weekend or next. Begonias & Callisia congesta, so far.

Some Sedum in this pot is starting to bloom.

    Fantastic work!

Marble queen pothos, Glacier (?) pothos, Golden pothos, & Neon pothos.

Lemon lime philo, philodendron Brazil, & I cant remember the name of the other philo.

One person's trash is my new planter! Golf ball bucket? IDK but it's lined with window screen & full of dirt now!

    And plants!!

This has new occupants this year.

Plants on 2 of the sides:

Old grill was home to Sans last year. I've put Coleus this year, the smallest cuttings I've ever done of Coleus. They've been here for a few weeks so they must be rooted by now. These are the tiny stems that had to be taken off of the bottoms of larger cuttings or they would have been under the soil.

I LOVE your creativity with your vision of what you can make into pots!..I found a bicycle basket (I think) I'll be using your technique...We have a roll or two of tight window screen in the garages somewhere, I'll find them.

TYVM! I hope you have fun with it like I do. I don't worry about these pots in the rain at all. Can't wait to see your project!!

Still some snow here, but should be gone in a few. I have 2 wire cones & 4 wire baskets for outside...I need to go thrifting!

Love, Love, Love! can't even come close to picking a favorite.

If I take a piece of my pencil cactus will it root if I plant it (W/O rooting it first) with something else?

Tiffany, purpleinopp Z8b Opp, AL thanked Debra (6a) West Ma.

TYVM! Yes, you can let it dry overnight, or plant right away. I have them all over in my pots from doing both. It's so much easier for me to stick cuttings in pots than try to dig a little hole to add more roots. Things don't want to stand up straight that way usually. I have an awl for poking small holes, or I use a stick if I need a bigger hole.

Loving the way these two look together, Tradescantia cerinthoides & wax Begonia.

A couple new pots that I made last weekend out of chicken wire, window screen, rolled wire. Aglaonema commutatum, Peperomia tricolor, Begonia 'Beefsteak,' various Tradescantia cuttings.

Another for succulents. Not hanging yet, I ran out of wire.

A preponderance of purple plus pink, postulating it's the personification of pretty, personally. Hemigraphis 'Snow White,' Tradescantia blossfeldiana & zebrina.

These plants are so stunted, they've been in there 2 years I think. Coleus, Peperomia orba, Callisia congesta, Begonia.

I've realized I like the leaning, etiolated look of Kalanchoe blossfeldiana as much as the uprights. Roundup of really radically red, with Cordyline fruticosa & Sansevierias.

Dracaena 'Hawaiian Sunshine,' variegated lucky bamboo (D. braunii,) Coleus, Begonia, couple new little cuttings of Tradescantia spathacea.

False Aralia tree, Coleus, Begonia, Kalanchoe, Plectranthus amboinicus (Cuban oregano.)

    Vines, Philodendron & Syngonium.

This is an update from an older pic upthread. Schefflera arboricola, Aglaonema modestum (with flower bud @ the top,) more variegated lucky bamboo, couple diff. Coleus.
