I think you need to choose a color from the brick and that might be an easier choice.I think your carpet is also throwing off the color. You also need much larger lamps.

I can see where you have a few cool greyish bricks. Theoretically the grey could have worked but the bulk of the fireplace and the carpet are too warm.

If you really want grey, you can make it look intentional by adding patterns with grey and tan (rug or pillows) and mixing gray and tan accessories around the room.

If you are going to repaint, look at SW accessible beige. It has the crisp clean look of cooler colors but works nicely with warm too.

Thank you for the advice. I had really hoped the colour would be more beige. The carpet will be replaced as well.
