I accidentally found out about Led lights when I put them on my porch. These aren't even "garden lights". In fact, they say they won't grow plants. WRONG. We got the wrong lights, they were rated Cool on the Kalvin scale which is on the box, so I stuck them outside because they look awful in the house - they are way too blue. However, I noticed that everything was growing in the wintertime. My lavender, the Dianthus, everything under the lights, it is hilarious. So any LED light will grow plants. Fluorescents will grow lights. I use grow lights, with 1 Spring (pink) light bulb and 1 Summer (blue) to raise seeds. They work really well. But fluorescents work also. I just like the LED grow lights because they get hot and then I don't have to heat the nursery. So I get a two for one. They are expensive, and I so wish I could remember where they came from - they had such great customer service. I can't find the receipt it was years ago, they're still doing great and I actually water the plants when they come up with the lights on. I highly do not recommend that. They're just real great lights. Don't water your lights. just don't. Anyway, Led lights work. Cheap, expensive, don't get those really expensive 900 dollar purple things they're selling. Yes I'm sure they're wonderful. no thank you.

I use leds meant for growing underwater plants for the aquarium trade. I loooooove mine. Low profile, low energy cost, pleasing to the eye and the plants over winter great. I wouldnt grow my roses under them all year, but to get them through a long winter until spring, they work well. You can check out the company at https://www.finnex.net/. I use their planted + line.
