Can someone suggest on what to do with that empty wall on the left? I find it hard to decorate since the other side has a window and it just looked off. Thanks million.

    Here’s the room.

My first observation would be to consider centering the bed between the corner and the window. Another would be to suggest taller nightstands and lamps, so the nightstand tops are equal in height to the top of the mattress. Otherwise, I would consider a piece of art on the wall to the left of the bed.

@hsharrington Thanks for your advice. Yes, I am going to hang some curtains on all the windows. All drilled and ready to go, I just need to buy 6 ivory curtains and curtain rods. My husband and I tried to move the bed down to the left between two windows but it made the room small and we didn’t like it.

I'm glad you tried different locations. One thing that would help integrate the bed and the window is to have art over the bed and over a revamped night table/lamp situation so that the art is the same height as the top of the window.

If you were to draw an imaginary line across that wall at the height of the window top, your art could start start at that height and come down to about 6"-8" off the top of the headboard. You could lower your current pictures and add another row of the same size/matte/frames as the wedding photos you currently have there. Now the wall/bed element has a visual weight similar to the window.

Finding and following lines that may not be easily visible, but do exist in architecture, gives a sense of structure, like a grid. When all the elements in a room relate to each other in a systematic way, it creates a sense of calm and restfulness. Good things for a bedroom, right?

I would try a different paint color on the walls. Perhaps something in a soft green or blue.

Will this art work on this wall? I really like it and it’s soft but I’m worried it wouldn’t work since the room doesn’t have blues in it. Any suggestions with photoshop included with be highly appreciated.

I had to guess at the size of the artwork. Hope this helps!

You could make this real simple by adding a floor table lamp;)

This may help you see how that piece of art would work with your current room's colorway. I like the art and its colorful nature, but you would need to make some adjustments in your current room to use it successfully. You have the right idea, though. I like the idea of something a little softer and more in line with your current colors. Here's a comparison:

Now if you put something tall in the corner, you have cohesion. I would suggest pulling color out of the art for the pillows on your bed. I love a monochromatic scheme, but we always have to be concerned about it looking flat. An accent color from art, a color from the opposite side of the color wheel, increased texture, can all help keep monochromatic interesting.

Meanwhile, I would wait until the drapes go up to decide what you're going to do.

@hsharrington Thank you for your suggestion. I am thinking adding a window wall decor on the left corner to balance the window on other side? What do you think? A tall floor lamp might be over doing it since I already have table lamps. Like the previous suggestions, I could get new taller table lamps and put something behind them to balance both sides of the bed. Then, I have to move the bed a little to the left to accommodate more space on the right corner. This might be a problem since there is a dresser on the lower left of the bed. Moving the bed to the left will give me small space passing by.

Perhaps I just leave the bed where it is now and put a soft wall accents on the left empty walls?

Thanks everyone for all your help.

PS. Forgive my English, it’s my second language.

Taller lamps would definitely help fill in some of the empty space. Adding drapes will help as well. What is the height from the top of the nightstands to the top of the headboard?

Good lord, Victoria Joan. I would never have guessed that English was not your first language! I wish I were as adept in a second language as you are.

I'm not familiar with a "window wall decor". Do you mean creating the impression of a window on the left side of the bed by hanging a window and drapes there to match the right side?

As before, I think you need to hang your drapes before making any other decisions. You might try doing that and then return to this post with a new picture and Houzzers can help you again. The drapes will have a major impact on your space and we really need to see them up to advise you well.

One thing I think is to be done right after hanging the drapes: you definitely need taller nightstands and lamps with more visual weight. Can you see how small they look next to your bed? They are out of proportion to the size of the bed. Here's some advice from furniture.com

"In general, it is easier to raise your arms than to lower them
when you are in bed. With that in mind, the rule of thumb is to have
your nightstand level with the top of the mattress or within two to six inches higher."

Also, simply putting larger or taller lamps on the small nightstands may not help the proportions. If you have a table lamp in another part of the house that is larger than your current ones in the bedroom, try placing it on the nightstand temporarily. That will show you how successful just buying larger lamps may or may not be.

Hi @harrington Thank you. I thought it’s really bad since my husband would say I should read a book about English grammar etc. Anyway, I ordered the curtains already and I’ll be back with pictures once they’re up. When I moved into my husband’s house, all the table lamps are small. Hence, nothing to try for now. Lol. Also, lots of dated hand-me-down furnitures. Lol. Oh, I have picked the lamps I like already (see below picture). Yes, you’re right. It’s like a window (I’m not sure what the name is, so I just made it up).

    Here, not 100% sure yet.

Why is it that men just don't seem to make a home for themselves? They always seem so willing to live with hand-me-downs that don't even go with each other! I'm glad you're making some changes.

So--you have a very eclectic choice in table lamps. I admire your ability to see value in a variety of shapes and styles. They all have a personality they bring. The first lamp has a wonderful amount of texture and the second offers a nice balance of masculine and feminine elements. The third is rustic, textured, and warm. The fourth is very sophisticated in shape and adds elements of shine and reflection. What a nice dilemma to have to choose between such good qualities.

Pretty lamp choices. I like the bit of shine the 4th would bring into the space. Just be sure it's tall enough so the shade comes up to the top of the headboard.

As an alternative for your walls, you might want to consider
something unique and easy to paint, personalize and install such as 3D wall
panels, textured wall paper or adhesive wall tiles (glass, gel or stone). A custom image or photo mural on glass is really cool, as well. Check
