If you want in floor heating and the look of wood you should use a commercial grade porcelain floor tile. We installed this in our bedroom five years ago (heathland cherry from Bedrosians Tile) and it is lovely. People who see it have to reach down and touch it to tell that it is not wood. It even has the wavy texture of hand scrapped wood.

If you are looking for warm feet when you step out of bed (not "room heating" but just nice warm toes) then you might want to look at cork flooring. It doesn't work with infloor heat....because it doesn't need it.

Cork is a "carpet replacement" surface which is just as quiet (actually it is quieter) and as warm as carpet. And without the extra expense of the in-floor radiant heat install (save $1500K or more depending on the size of the bedroom), you can have the best of the best in cork flooring.

And before you look at tile/in-floor radiant heat, have you checked to see if the subfloor can handle that type of weight? If it needs to be "upgraded" to handle tiles/extra weight, you would be looking at a SIGNIFICANT extra cost.
