Ok, I was hoping that Ken would have jumped in by now, but anyway, I met Ken M. several years ago and to my great surprise and appreciation we became friends and since I only live about 30 minutes away from him I've been able to visit with him at his place. Ken, wanting to have a "back-up" on many of his breeding stock to guard against loss, sent many, many specimens home with me. Last year when I posted a picture of Mito-no-hana in the forum, Ken contacted me about sending a little surprise to Babka if there were any divisions available. Ken and Babka have been on this forum forever and after a little sleuthing and a couple of private e-mails, I was able to get Babka's mailing address. Thus Babka got her " Mito" and Ken and I got to bring a smile to her face. After all, hostas are the "friendship" plant. Glad it likes it's new home.

The generosity of people on these garden forums never ceases to amaze me! It's a beautiful thing.

Mine is not up yet ( usually very late here ) but it def is one of my very favorites. I find that it sends out almost runners and does not clump well. I would suggest keeping it in that pot to get a nice full clump. mine is more like 6 or 7 eyes spread out in a 2 ft radius. the more sun the better the markings, then again the more sun the quicker they fade so kind of a give and take. ENJOY it! it took me awhile and a fair bit of money to get mine.

Where's Ken? I would love to know a little history on how it came to be in his collection. This Great Act of Kindness came from the hosta curmudgeon, and I fear I may have spoiled his reputation here by exposing his extreme thoughtfulness and generosity. ;-)

Well, if you're into hybridizing, you'll know that Pinstripe Sister is a very sought after plant. He gave me two Pinstripe Sister seedlings that were in ten gallon pots. HUGE ! They are going to help me greatly in my hybridizing goals. I really was overwhelmed!

Just seen 4 pips poping up on my Mito today. should be a few more in the next few days but you have to look in a wide area for them.
