View from inside the house. (Is it a single insect?)

Not a single, a double as you guessed at first. Doing just what you think. Ain't nature grand?

Amazing.

I raise Monarchs and frequently see them mating in the yard. Strangely, they tie together in the air and fall to the ground. A big struggle goes on until they fly away.

I often wonder why they have such a dangerous way of mating. A few times I almost stepped on them!
