No, it's not stupid but it is difficult. Roses really do not like being indoors. Natural sunlight is best but a grow light will work and the humidity tent would help. I will say that the roses may grow but may not bloom well under these conditions. The only way to know for sure is to try.

Grow lights are getting cheaper. Give it a try. I think we’d all like to know how it works for you. Beware spider mites though. They seem to find their way even indoors and will destroy your babies in a few days if left untreated.

I've been growing a potted Olympiad that I impulse bought in February under a full spectrum clip on light I found at Amazon for 25 bucks. (2 bendy things with bulbs attached to a spring clip) I take it out of the garage on warm days, but it's healthy. I thought I was going to kill it for sure. I've cut 3 blooms from it, and it's cranking out more.
