Awkward Wall Space help!

I have this space between the living room wall art and the large clock in our dining/kitchen area. It seems very awkward to me and I’d like to put something to make it seem less “choppy.” I was thinking about putting 4/5 floating shelves between the sectional and the blue chair to divide the walls but now I’m having second thought. Any ideas???

My first thought was to put a mirror above the blue chair, as this would sort of connect the two rooms. What would you see if you did this?

I don’t think i’d put anything there. You don’t need stuff on every bit of wall.

Similar to Lars' idea, another suggestion would be to get a side table and a more substantial lamp to put next to the blue chair. Then put one of your pillows in the blue chair. That will give that spot more oomph and help the wall will balance out.

The size of the clock is throwing things off as well. If you can't get the wall to balance with it, I would consider moving it.

Thanks for the responses! I know I don’t need every spot covered on the wall however, I would like to have something in that area... as a personal preference.
Lars, if I were to put a mirror behind the chair it would face a long narrow hallway. How big of a mirror would you put up? I’m trying to envision myself walking toward a mirror everyday.

@d_gw now I’m questioning the clock too! I’d really like something in the space behind the table but I just can’t quite figure out this wall.
We do have a small side table in between the sectional and chair but it’s barely visible in the photo.
I was also thinking of placing a large plant there next to the lamp. (Fiddle leaf fig tree or a Monstera deliciosa.)

A plant is a good idea, I don't know if it would be happy in that space. A large floor vase with some tall filler could fill the space nicely and would be more manageable.

A more substantial lamp on the side table could also help fill the expanse of wall.

Take the clock down and add a pice of art there , really how many clocks do you need in a kitchen

Your idea of shelves between the sectional and chair seems odd. If you want to divide the walls, wouldn't you want the shelves (or other thing) between the blue chair and the kitchen table?

It seems to me that the only way to add to the wall art is to re-think
what you have there now. I am a fan of large artwork like you have over the sectional, but it often
doesn't lend itself to having other pieces around. So ideally, if I
wanted to fill out that wall, I would remove the art over the sectional and
turn the wall into a gallery wall that mimicked the upward slant to the ceiling. But, gallery walls are hard to pull off; I doubt I
could do one well enough to satisfy myself.

It seems like all you need is some art on the walls in place of the clock, and if you feel you need something in that space then try a lovely plant.

Is there room to move the blue chair so that it is at right angle to the sofa? A larger side table with a more prominent lamp would better complete the area. I suggest you remove the clock and add some artwork, a large piece or a collection. No mirror, you already have one near the window, which should be moved to the middle of the space from the edge of your drape to the wall.

Is that a mirror by the drapes....... I thought it was a window! Maybe it's the camera angle but what throws everything off for me is the height of the art above the sofa compared to the height of the drapes. The art needs to be lower, also, can it be hung horizontally?

If the blue chair isn't being used, I'd move it, and I'd also remove the mirror.

My idea is to remove the small rod over the window ,get a longer one add sheers and have panels on each side no need for that small mirror , if you did this the wall will look much wider too .

Sort of this idea and your sectional will look much better too.

I'd like to see a photo from the other direction, but from what I can see, the blue chair doesn't belong there. I'd probably replace it with an end table and substantial lamp, and perhaps move the sofa toward the dining area as well. Can't really tell from the angles you've shown, though.

I would not put a mirror or art there. It will just look like a bunch of random stuff on the wall.
