Summer of 2016 when I was working at a nursery, a customer dropped off this freaky floppy little plant in a little terra cotta pot... no one wanted it, but I thought it was very neat looking. Looked it up, and found out it is Immense, and one of those cool "hand me down" plants. It's been a houseplant ever since, and now is a plush beast in full bloom with a few stalks for the first time in a corner of my kitchen. It's in a big plastic pot with a small tomato cage to help keep it's leaves contained a bit.

I'd like to put it out on the porch this summer... but not sure when I can move it outside? Since I've always had it indoors, I don't know what it's cold tolerances are. I was thinking of "hardening" it off with my citrus trees in pots- figured the begonia might be temp sensitive like the little trees are. I got a spot on the porch that has the nice bright but diffused sun that this guy seems to love so much that would be great.

And also, it's grown big enough that it has a few clumps instead of one, and kind of getting big for the big pot- and the smaller clumps look around the size of the plant when I originally got it. When I got the plant, looked like the lady just whacked the clump off in it's dirt mass and dropped it into the new pot. Is it really that hardy and easy of a plant to propagate? Can I do this while it's in bloom, or do I want to wait till the blooms die off? Should I do this before I start moving it outside, or move the pot whole as is and wait till later in the season?

I won't start the hardening off with the citrus trees for a few weeks yet- my solarium is still dipping below 40 at night and likely might over the next week or two. But figured I should ask about this sooner rather than later.
