Can you get the same style as your chairs?

I kinda like these. The wood matches your floor and your table and chairs, and the seat matches the kitchen colour. The nailhead design is quite nice, adds a bit of class to it.

This one is also nice, a bit more comfy looking with a backrest.

This woven seagrass one is really nice and I think it would look great with your kitchen and surrounding furnishings.

    Beautiful kitchen. Well done!

I wanted to but then i realized it will stick out too much and won’t look good. I think the best would be something max 17” deep. Because countertop stick out only 11”

I was thinking white would look great! Here are a couple of photos from Houzz for how they would look:

Urban Style White Gloss & Satin Black Glass · More Info

You can also go darker stools if you do not like the white contrast:

Oh, since you mention depth restrictions, the first one above of the three I mentioned might be the best choice. I went to Wayfair site because I know they have so many choices. You can put some filters on their search. Backless stools are the shallowest, so when I put that filter on, there are still plenty of really nice looking choices. Have a look and see what jumps out at you.

    Hi sylwiapaliwoda,

For an 11-inch overhang, you should have plenty of room to fit really any kind of bar stool at your counter! I wouldn't limit yourself to a small bar stool, depth wise.

If you plan on sitting and eating in your kitchen, I would go with something really comfortable.

Based on your kitchen, I would go with the Ronny stool in a black metal finish and a white fabric or vinyl (vinyls are great for wiping down in busy kitchens).

It's really comfortable, the back hugs you and it's nicely cushioned.

I just measured my countertop overhang and it’s actially 8.5” - sorry !! I looked online and found few barstools that aren’t too deep, what do you think ?

I was thinking of something simple which won’t take too much space.

also We will be changing dining table for a black one - extendable for 6-8 people

Hi -- on a side note, can you provide me with details on your wood floor? It looks nice with your cabinets. Thanks!

Hi annied75 it is Alta vista hardwood engineer wood floor in Malibu color

The balloons emphasize how much the room needs an addition of COLOUR. Brightly coloured leather/fabric-covered stool seats are needed. If the stools themselves were coloured, that would be even better.

We got these from IKEA. Fun way to add some color. They are a very nice orange, not too bright. Not sure if these are too modern for your tastes though. They would go nicely with your kitchen but I'm not sure about your existing chairs.

    Hi sylwiapaliwoda-

    Your apartment is beautiful, congratulations!

    Ok, lets be realistic here!

Why are you bothering to get stool for your counter at all?

You have your dining room table right next to the kitchen anyway, will anyone even be eating at the counter?

And the counter depth is 8.5 inches. That doesn't fit anyone's legs!

That doesn't even fit my dinner plates!

Let's face it, that counter is not made for sit down eating, it is made for serving drinks, and passing food.

Save your money, and don't even bother buying the stools at all.

Just buy yourself a nicer dining room set.

In fact, what you could do with that ridiculous 11 inches of space below the counter overhang is build some shelving and make some extra storage if you need it, open or closed.

For example, you could make it a bar and have glass shelves for glasses and bottles of liquor. And if you want to be glamorous, on the back (where it is painted gray) you could attach mirror tiles and the shelves would be attached to the mirror.\

Or you could have have closed storage for half of it, and open storage on the other half.

You could make a rack in which to store your large trays and serving platters, and you can decide whether or not you want that to be open or closed.

You can install rollers from which to hang your tablecloths, (oh to have tablecloths with out those creases!) and hangers for your napkins.

Just think of all the marvelous things you can do with that space which is ridiculously to small for anyone's legs and derrieres!

Well I really want to use this countertop as a place to sit and have morning breakfast or lunch. The idea with extra space is great but I already have a lot of space in the cabinets. But the you !!

Hi, I would like to ask how you like your Hallmark Alta Vista floors? I am considering these very floors in the same Malibu colour. Have you lived with them long? If so, how is the wear? Any insights would be appreciated.

Hi, we have it for a year now and so far we are very happy. We have husky dog and no signs of scratches. We can truly recommend it, it gets a lot of compliments !
