So two pillows in the chair? My husband just rejected my orange idea. Any other color ideas? Something very nice year around?

I cannot help you with the door colour, but will share our best decision to paint our wood front door by taking it to the auto body shop and getting it paint sprayed and baked. Its over twenty years now and still looks like new! British racing green anyone?

Green-blue colors like teal tend to look nice for front doors. A kelly green or royal blue (as someone above mentioned) would be a bit more out of the box.

For a subtle orange color, take a look at SW6353 Chivalry Copper. It's a winner that I have used a couple of times to great effect.

But our neighbors just painted their door a aqua teal blue... soo I am hesitant.

Should I put the numbers on the door? They were on the column before..

Does your husband have a favorite color or a school color? I wouldn't put the house numbers on the door because I like to hang wreaths on the door and it might block the numbers. Any of the colors except the taupe would ok. How about a blue to tie with your interior?

Hello tqtqtbw, my husbands favorite color is blue. I too enjoy wreaths so good idea. He’s really a no guy and a numbers guy . I try to include his opinion on things because he lives here also.

Purple

Purple, Burgandy, something in that family would look nice and my be acceptable to the hubby.

Door #1 is similar to "BM - twilight blue 2067-30"

Door #3 is similar to "BM - nocturnal gray 2135-30"

According to the comments, the first door is Sherwin Williams lupine SW 6810. That bright blue is awesome!

It’s beautiful, for me it’s either lupine or a bright beautiful red.

The next front door color we will use is called artichoke. We have a light color brick and wanted to give this home a splash of natural color. It's a Sherwin Williams paint color SW 6179. The last front door we painted was Farrow and Ball's Downpipe. It's a dark lead grey with blue undertones. It's beautiful! The sky is the limit.

I never thought I would be drawn to a blue door. I always thought red or black would be my style but the more I stare at blue with the home I like it. It’s not too dark yet not too bright.

Our door is not wood it’s just painted to look wood.

Here is my concern as far as brightness..

I think that bright blue matches the blue in your floral door mat.

Love seeing all the door colors! We recently had a client paint their door bright yellow! Fo fun! Actually these photos are similar to your siding and white trim. The color is more of a grey, but I think the yellow still could work!

You mentioned liking orange. Here's an orange front door in a shade that shouldn't darken your front porch too much.

Well, it's only a bit of money and a bit more sweat. So pick a colour you like and go for it! You can always change it if you hate it.

Hello All- just wanting feedback on using a mossy green color with our home exterior. I would be changing the hardware to a black color if I went in this direction...

Our first home is your average builders home however I do want to turn the style direction of the home to a cottage feel.

Any advice appreciated

Yes, it’s not black nor gray with no undertones. I feel confident it blends well with our sandstone siding.

Thoughts on number finish?

I'm not a fan of numbers on the door if that is the only location for the address. Make sure you have your address prominently displayed in an area where they are large, visible and not under your covered porch. Make them easy to find when driving on the street in front. Make sure the numbers contrast with the background. Right now you have black numbers on a dark door under a porch ceiling which serves to hide the address well from the street.

Black numbers on the tan siding would stand out nicely.

Thank you everyone for your feedback. In front of our home is our mailbox. Numbers are displayed on it. So here are some other options... this first column? Or maybe brighter numbers?

Where are they on most of the houses - above the garage door or on a column?

That is the place I would select so that they are visible immediately.

Perhaps on the siding just to the left of the garage door, installed vertically.

I like them on the column too. It is high contrast.

On the siding if they fit nicely that way.
