Anybody getting rain today?

It's been raining off and on all day, and right now, we've been having a big thunderstorm & downpour for over an hour. My little plants look so happy!

I wish I had turned over all my containers that can hold rainwater, but alas, they are all face-down and won't be gathering water. *sigh*.

I did early this morning but not much

Its been sunny all day today. That little bit of rain we got saturday night and sunday morn wasn't even enough to keep the containers from needing watering.

Got a nice gentle rain for several hours on Sunday.

Well, it's pouring here again today, and will be off and on all day. Just went out in the rain to put out as many rain-holding containers as I had. I hope my succulents and tomatoes don't drown. Once it eases up, I'm going to bring them back inside to dry out a bit.

Just pulled a radar and it looks like doom North and west of Orlando, I think this is going to be strong enough to make it to me.maybe I will get some real rain today.

We had a deluge here in Pinellas, but it was short-lived. There's another band expected later:

"Area Forecast DiscussionNational Weather Service Tampa Bay Ruskin FL
    853 AM EDT Tue Apr 10 2018
    .UPDATE...
Widespread rain event underway with 2 to 4 inches of rain
having already fallen across portions of Levy county.
Additional heavy rain with embedded thunderstorms is
developing over the Gulf and moving eastward toward the
Nature Coast. HRRR suggests a brief lull in activity as one
short-wave passes early this afternoon, but another impulse
will move across the region later this afternoon, and this
will help push the main area of rain and storm farther to
    the south and east.
While there is a marginal threat of severe storms across
central Florida today, the main event will be the locally
heavy rainfall. The most vulnerable area will be Levy county
where the heaviest rains have fallen so far, but anywhere
between the Tampa Bay area and Levy county is at risk for at
least some minor flooding from time to time through this
evening. Since we`ve been relatively dry lately, chose not
to hoist a flood watch at this time. If another band of
heavy rain sets up over Levy county today, flood warnings
    may be required.
Have raised rain chances a bit for most of our central and
northern areas today through this evening. Otherwise, few
    changes were made."

Carol, I just looked at radar and it seems the worst is over for us today, but I see more heading your way. We're supposed to get thunderstorms from 4 pm to 6 pm, but looking at the radar, I don't know where they would be coming from. Right now, birds are singing happy songs, glad to be safe and dry.

I'm going to walk out and see how the outside garden fared.

Wow! I just looked on Wunderground for yesterday, and we got 4.95 inches of rain yesterday! They're saying less than an inch so far today, but I'm thinking more than that by tomorrow.

Now that a good rain. so far I've got a solid 1 inch of rain which is pretty good for this time of year here.

About an inch here too. 3x the total we have had for the past four or five weeks. Very welcome.

Sarasota got 1.2 inches at the airport.

I moved all my orchids out to get watered. Ran around this morning putting fertilizer around my fruit trees and flowers in the ground.

Just made it in time before the rain started.

    Wow, did we need it!

am guessing rain lilies should be blooming their heads off soon?

I hope they do! I have a whole clump that usually blooms after a good rain, and I just transplanted some into another bed. I started some from seed last year, and need to plant those out this year so they will grow and bloom.

We had rain in the afternoon and on and off in the night. I put some containers out to catch some rain. We hadn't seen a decent rain in a while!

It's a beautiful day today and I'm stuck inside working. BLEH!

I got 2 1/2 inches in the last 24 hours. So happy. This time last year my lawn was dead.

Woke up to a nice rainstorm this morning. It's going to be cloudy during most of the day, then rain again in late afternoon. My plants are happy, but myself is not. I have to go out today on the bus, so I hope it really does stop raining soon.
