I don't consider grubs to ever be good. Though some birds would love to eat them. And humans may eat them in some cultures!

This is a grub, the larva of some beetle. Some of them feed on dead organic material and can help in composting. Others eat live plant roots. If they are in a pot this may be a sign of trouble. I would investigate the pot medium and root system. Usually where there's one there are many.

Bad bug, unless you found it in a compost heap.

Thank everyone. I mixed up a batch of 2-2-1 for my meiwa kumquat trees last july. The compost I used came from the bottom of my compost pile. I thought I had screened all these grubs out but it seams that I missed no less than 1 and maybe more. This came out of the seed grown Meiwa kumquat tree below which is growing very well for a MSteveeiwa kumquat even with this grub in there,
