It's the nature of the beast, isn't it? We love it, we want more and more. I understand, completely.

And here the cold kills some things and drought weakens some things so then

it's replace, replace. I love propagating things, so that's my weakness.

What's funny to me is that when I contemplate a future disaster, such as the inevitable collapse of the deteriorating tunnel trellis of a gorgeous old vine, I can actually look forward to the eventual next configuration/solution/replacement. There is an endless supply of kinds of plants to try to grow. This is heaven!

mr1010 - Yes, propagation is my weakness too. I can barely stand to throw away trimmings without trying to root them, and volunteer seedlings always get dug up and put into six packs to be scattered around the gardens or given away. I love to give plants away to other gardeners.

Irma - I've reconfigured my courtyard every year for 3 years, and I'm still not happy with it. I started reconfiguring the south-facing garden this year, but only got 1/3 of the way through. That will leave me something to do this fall.

Ah how I know about making more work for myself. I just couldn't help myself. I planted every veggie seed I had all over the place. At the base of trees,in flower beds, along fence, in Nooks I can't get a mower in.plant the weeds you want are get the weeds nature gives you right. I might regret it later.

I've planted many things I regretted later. It's part of being a gardener.
