You tree's rootstock variety determines how it will grow in ground. See what rootstock it is on. what part of the country do you live and your zone.

According to some articles I read about the person who managed to grow it successfully here, they trained/pruned the tree into an open vase shape. You'll see most ppl suggest that citrus don't need any specific shaping or training of the tree form but the Dekopon/Sumo benefits greatly if you do, according to what I've read. The training/pruning form they use is one they use for peach trees. You can look up peach tree pruning to get an idea of the pruning shape. That's about the only specific difference in treatment that I've read about. Good luck :)!
