art size help!!

Since I have been getting such good advice and suggestions from all of you Which size of this art do you like for my space? One is 44” and the other is 54”. I am leaning towards the 54”.
Thanks!

Because the photo is taken at an angle, it's a bit hard to tell, but I think the 44" is more proportional to the space. It should be hung much lower though.

I also like the 54" art!

I should have mentioned the tape was just for choosing the size not the position.

Glad to hear the tape represents size, not position. I still think the 54" overwhelms the space. Art should have some negative space around it. I'm also assuming the piece is centered in the space. Hard to tell in the photo.

Is 44” the size of just the artwork, or does that include the frame?

I love the original of that painting, but are you sure you don’t want something with a little more color for that space?

Richfield95 it is a canvas with no frame. Actually the art will go very nice with the adjoining dining room .

Hummm... seeing it straight on might change my mind regarding size! I can't tell if the position is what bothers me in the 44". It looks off center, too.

larger one. hands down. (the taped example in the photo w/the smaller one is hung far too high above the sofa)

    here,,a visual

    too high and too small.

this one is better,,and I lowered it a bit for you. if you take another pic further back and make sure the photo is level/straight, I can do another so you can see.

i'd also do a simple silver frame

The tape represents the size not the position. Thanks!

Beth H. Thanks for the visual!

44" for sure! It's much more proportional and doesn't overpower.

Maybe kind Beth will do a mock up of the 44" in the correct position?

    54" is great!

The larger one will have much more impact. Since there is little color in the painting, the small one may seem too insignificant.

54 and make sure you hang it low so it is about 5-6” above back of sofa and centered in space. Remove red pillows from sectional add a couple pulling gray from art.

Thanks Flo for the feedback! Glad you agree with the 54”.

If I switch out the rust pillows then I have to change all the drapes. Not in the budget right now. So per Julie’s advice I am going to remove the small brown pillows and lumbar and replace lumbar with a color from the picture and add a throw to the chair in the same color.

I understand about drapery, but another solution would be to remove a couple of the rust/orange pillows and get a couple that blend in all colors without overemphasizing the drapery color. Something like this one. Or for a bit more excitement, an animal print like this one.

Flo that is a nice option. I like the 1st one I’m not daring enough for the cheetah print lol. Do they come in different sizes my pillows are 22”.

You can mix sizes by putting smaller in front of larger ones. I didn’t see larger size.

Flo I have a post about redecorating my bedroom if you are interested in helping me. I actually posted 2 but look at the one that says new pics. Thanks!
