Inexperienced air plant enthusiast here. Watered my small tillandsia collection today and noticed on my stricta hybrid what I believe to be a pup beginning to pop through maybe half way up the side of the plant... what’s confusing me to me is from what I’ve read, tillandsia tend to pup after blooming? But it seems bloom stalks typically come from the center not the sides. Since I’ve never had one pup or bloom for me, I have no clue what I’m looking at. Is it a pup? Is it a bloom? I haven’t the foggiest idea and have had no luck in finding images of either at this stage. Any insight would be greatly appreciated :)
