I will also suggest inexpensive 4xT8 fixtures. T5's are "better", but more pricey. Consider editing your post to include the 'growing tomatoes' subforum as well. I have seen other light recommendations there, but I can't find them again.

Just because LED is cool and new, remember regular old shop lights are cheap and very energy efficient. You can also put them practically on top of your plants without worrying about burning their leaves, which is a concern with high power (multi-watt) LED diodes.

I've never been a fan of LED, and that funky color light. I like to observe and work on my seedlings under normal lighting so I stick with T5. I like to work under my lights when potting and consider the bright light winter light therapy. I love my Agrobrite T5 fixture. You do have to replace the bulbs every few years (they gradually lose brightness). But $30 in bulbs every 3 years is still cheaper than buying seedlings. I just circulate old bulbs to the garage or shop. New ones for plants.

@ootockalockatuvik the 'purple light' grow-lamps are the 'old style'. However, T5s are cheaper and quieter unless you're growing commercially.

I have purchased the iPower 54W 4 Feet T5 Grow Light System with Stand Rack for Plant Growing, 6400K on Amazon and will see how my plants respond. Thanks everyone.
