Donna and Carol...Thank you!!!

A few years ago you both sent me seeds from your plants. Might be 3-4 yrs ago, didn't write it down.

Just wanted to report I got my first flowers on two plants. I have others which didn't bloom yet but look good. Those are planted in a bad spot which doesn't get enough sun. Too shaded under large trees. I'm going to move them soon.

Over the years, thanks to the guys who mow the lawn, all the labels were lost so I have no idea which are which! But the two which bloomed were beautiful. I had two spikes on each with a total of 6 flowers on each plant.

Just beautiful! Thank you both so much and if you recognize the flowers, maybe I can get names.

This white is spectacular!

The color isn't correct in the picture. In real life it appears more coral/peachy. Just beautiful!

These are growing in the ground in Sarasota, Florida. Hot, full south-west sun and in pure beach sand. I use wood chips to mulch. They have done well with very little watering. Just amazed.

Well, you are in luck, back in 2013, I just happened to keep a record of what I sent both you and Angela. (I sent the same to you both) Here is the list and you can choose what you think these might possibly be! They are both are very beautiful and thanks for posting!

Unfortunately, I no longer keep such good records of seeds that I give away.

Of course, either of these might be from Carol.

I've had some Exotic x Lady Jane bloom for me and they are similar to your second one but yours is far superior to anything I ended up with!

As you can see, even this list is a little questionable as to what I actually meant, I might of left some of the self words out as well as an x or two.

Thank you Donna! I can't believe its been five years since I got the seeds. I thought it was three years.

Thank you for the list. I do have the list as I wrote it down, problem is I don't know which plant is what! The labels were blown away by my lawn guy over the years. I guess I'll try to find images online.

I'd like to move the bunch growing in the shade of a tree. They have never bloomed and are much smaller. Is this a good time to dig up the bulbs?

I'm in Florida so the weather is warm in the 80's. I'd love to move them now to the spot where I put the others. They are twice the size and in full, hot sun. Amazing.

Today I noticed another scape/spike on the coral one. It has two fat buds.

This is so exciting, I love how pretty they both are.

Jane, I think hippeastrum (amaryllis) are forgiving of being transplanted, especially this early in the growing season. I think those bulbs that are in shade/partial sun will thank you with beefed up bulb size (and potentially blooms next season) if they are moved to a sunnier location.

Since I don't visit here often, I wonder what happened to Carol. I'd like to thank her too.
