Do you have any idea what the brick looks !like underneath?

I have this too!!! Good luck! I have siding so a little easier to replace. . .but talk to a contractor and they can tell you what they can do. Yours looks like mine in that it’s actually sitting in the siding/brick, not on top of it (whhhyyy?).

I would look into having them replaced with brick, and if they can match the brick it would be the best route to take. The least expensive way is to paint them. Painting them to match the brick is
going to be difficult though and might make them stand out even more if
the color is wrong. :) You have different shades in the brick so choosing a paint color will be tricky. You might not ever be satisfied with just painting them but it's worth a try. Here is a quick rendering to give you an idea of both options. :)

Thank you, we looked at doing the brick route, since it is from the 1980s I am not confident it will match and since it is HOA we cannot paint the brick. But it is still on the table.

phuninthesun We have not taken a look underneath. I guess we could get lucky with some brick being there.

They may be out of fashion, but that doesn't mean they're bad looking. I think they're nicely done & add interesting detail to your otherwise plain home. Paint them a midtone neutral so they visually recede, and call it a day.

I for one would knock it off with the outdated style windows. Nothing wrong with the style. Do we knock down all houses that were built with a style from 20-30 years ago? NO!

What makes them stand out to me is the cream color against the white window frames. I would paint them white like the windows or brick colored like shown above. I have that same shape at my home. I am embracing it.
