Seville emergence!!

Today my first Seville seed emerged; exactly one month ago, I planted 20 seeds; so I am optimistic I will get more.

I now have 20 little Kaffir seedlings; which took 5 weeks for the first seed to emerge.

Sevilles are easy and fast from seed. I plant them and give them away to friends.

The only other current tree I have from seed is a Pomelo.

Glad they are finally starting to germinate. I just planted 20 sour orange seeds today :)

It's a noname sour orange from grocery, not a fancy Seville. Potentially I would use as rootstock for kumquats.

If you are going to grow in containers, it is not a big issue; but I would never graft anything I care about onto a noname or unknown rootstock; because if you plant it in the ground you do not know the weakness or the strength of the rootstock.
