We only received about 0.70" here south of Marietta, and that is good. I didn't want too much rain here at planting time since we'd had heavy rain in February that left my garden underwater for weeks. We still had pretty good subsoil moisture left from that. There's more rain expected later in the week, but I expect to have my peppers and some other veggies in the ground by then, or at least that is my goal. Now that rain is becoming a more regular visitor again, we'll be squeezing in planting in between rainy days.

Not sure how much we got, but it rained consistently and slowly all night Saturday night and most the morning on Sunday and most of the night Sunday here in Arkansas. I'm happy with that!

I am VERY happy with my 1 3/4 inch... but it is still really dry, for digging in the lawn... to get ride of Bermuda grass. I still have to stand on the digging fork, and rock it back and forth and side to side, to get it in the ground at all.

The only places I can really dig, is where I have been watering.

We need rain... but I guess, I should be happy, cause it was way more than 32 drops. Sorry Kim that you didn't get more.

Kim, I hope the Bob Wills week events bring y'all some rain (and it does seem to happen almost every year, doesn't it?). And, no one from Texas or who ever lived in Texas even has to say this, but I feel compelled to say it every time we mention Bob Wills "It don't matter who's in Austin, Bob Wells is still the king".

In Turkey this week the town goes from 500 to 10,000. I would say he is king this week.

He's king every week even if the rest of the world just doesn't recognize it! It is heartwarming to think how well-loved and revered he is more the 4 decades after his death. I love that Turkey, TX, still celebrates the man and his music. I know that I was still in high school when he passed away, so it had to have been some time in the mid 1970s. I'm proud to be from Texas, where Bob Wills is STILL the king. (grin)

Bob Wills was/is pretty important to Tulsa, too. Pictures of the Cains Ballroom, where he broadcast his radio shows.

Apparently these festivals go way back. A friend used to go when he was kid and he is in his 70's. Turkey was a happening town and the festivals used to be more uh wild back in the day. The fiddle contest is the best with all the kids from 4 on up. I have been and seen and it was nice.

Sorry, didn't know about him at all...

but it is raining at present in OKC, which of course, is normal... LOL, the Arts Festival started yesterday. It always storms/rains during the Arts Festival.

I am going to have a late start this morning, while heading west...
