My builder uses Houzz Pro to plan the timeline and give detailed estimates and daily updates with photos of progress, and provide invoices at pre-agreed key points in the build. This made the whole experience much more efficient and stress-free.

    So sorry I missed your question. Just noticed I had an unanswered question. They started as natural Alder. We stripped and sanded the island, stained with oil based stain then finished in 40% sheen lacquer. The perimeter cabinets were solvent washed, lightly sanded then sprayed with 15% sheen white lacquer.
