Got to watch for fungus growth. I started to bury the pills I have just under the soil. I don't think you could over do it. One cube per pot should be great. We had a garden center that sold horse feed that was pure alfalfa. I think it was called alfa-bits. That was 20 years ago. Which I could still find a place who sells them. I used shovel fulls mixed under the soil then plant my hosta over it. I believe it was cheap but can't remember how much. One problem that could arise, feed for rodents or ants? I never had a problem but if over done, you might bring on new ones.

I heard but can't prove this; Rabbit manure is even better. They eat lots of alfalfa and the growth hormone for the plants is not effected. I heard any manure that strict vegetarians eat is good for plants after composting. That's why dog and cat manure is never to be used for plants.

Figures, I had an old workmate that gave me a three-gallon bucket full of rabbit manure, was going to use it for plant fertilizer, then my wife threw it out without asking. Need to find another supply source... I had heard before that rabbit manure has the highest natural nitrogen content of animal manures.

I know rabbits has to recycle their dropping to get the nourishment them selves. So how do you know which poop to get? You would want the 2 nd. goings so to speak. Only rabbit poop I ever saw was wild rabbits and it was dark hard round and tiny. Wild rabbits would not have the same as domestic ones fed with alfalfa.
